Dinghy Bottom?

HI,

I like your dinghy design a lot. I'm looking to build a stable boat for my in-laws to replace their Adirondack guide boat, which is proving too tippy, especially when boarding & unloading.

My question is: Is the dinghy a flat-bottomed boat? There are 2 different renderings on the site, one which appears to show a v-hull, with 8 distinct hull panels, and another (top) view, which appears to show a flat bottom with 5 or seven panels.

Can you tell me which is right? I wold very much prefer the flatter bottom for stability reasons mentioned.

Thanks,

That bottom panel is a single flat panel. Looks like the renderings you see are leftover from the original hull layout.

I've heard the Adirondack Guideboats were very fast, but tippy.

Look for a couple new canoes to come out shortly that might also be a good fit for your parents.

One is a 15'+ x 38" canoe that will be big, comfortable, yet mostly easy to paddle and have a transom for a small motor.

Another is a 14' x 34" square stern canoe that will be great for fishing and overall stability.

But it sounds like you're more interested in rowing.
