hi matt, I'm building a laker 13 and have the sides cut,but when I join them per QA2 on the plans i bought it leaves a 3/4 in. gap on the bottom edge.so i looked at the freebe plans and join them per those the fit is near perfect. Please can you clarifly this. thank you.

I'm not sure how you're comparing the 2: The free plans use the lower bow stem distance as a reference while the "pay-for laker 13" use upper bow stem. The rounded lower stems of the "pay for laker 13" wouldn't give you any cornered point to measure from.
In each set the distance between upper bow stem point is 158-9/16 [403]. So your alignment should be fine.

The bow stem distances is fine.when i line the the top edge to a line stapped on floor and push the joint down 1 7/16 it open the bottom edge up 3/4 in.when i line up the bottom edge on the line and push up the joint 2 13/16 the joint is fine.Or do i just butt the to pieses together and not worry ? thanks fredo

The snap-to line distance should go BELOW the edge of the wood panels.
