I was interested in strip building sometime ago but had no contacts so I took it off of my, to do list. Now after finding out about S&G and being on my second JEM boat I’m seeing Lee’s Hybrid, Darrel’s Strip Freedom, Craig and now Ron building with prefab panels I have some questions. I guess this will be mainly for our designer but I would like all the input you guys want to give. I’ve been looking at plans and other places for info but would rather stay here and work with Matt’s stuff if possible. I’m really intrigued by all that is going on because plywood is hard to come by here unless you are putting down a floor. The only place in Tennessee I’ve been told might have Marine grade was Nashville Plywood but they said they no longer carried it. Having it shipped puts the cost at 70.00 to 80.00 per sheet. So stripping not only becomes what I would like to do but could be the most economical since I have all the tools to do it. So to the questions.
Would Sasquatch, Trapper, and Southwind be good stripper designs?
Could the Iroquois and Merrimac be built with the prefab panles like Ron is doing now or even built like a regular stripper?
Could prefab panels take the twist in boats like Sasquatch, Trapper, and Southwind?
Matt what models are you planning do as strippers?
Thanks Joe W.

I can draw any of the models you mentioned in a strip built method.

Re: Questions about stripping and JEM land.
I have a set of Northwind plans enroute now that is a stripper also. marine ply is available here but is cost prohibitive. I really like the way a strip boat looks so that is probably the way I will go on all of my future boats. Whether it is fully stripped or premade panels is yet to be seen. Altough I found the stripper was not harder to build it is going to take you a substantial amount of time to build, so be prepared for that.
