maybe this has been asked before however here goes .I want a kayak that i can use offshore and in rivers and streams.
i have built the laker 14 and it is by far the best yak i have owned, but not for outside , i was thinking of the okwata next but does it have self draining scuppers and would it be suitable for offshore ,What would be the ideal all rounder in the Jem range ???? Your comments and pics please

Scott Runners 12ft Bluefin SOT would be hard to beat as an allrounder in my opinion

A SOT is needed for self draining. Currently available is the Sabalo and Wadefish. Bluefin is being worked on.

G'day Cridgie
Okwata is a superb kayak - superior in every way to Laker.
With a standard sized cockpit and readily available, commercially mad spraydeck, I would take mine anywhere I would take my expedition sea kayak or even, my Southwind 17.9.
I true sit in SEA kayak is in my opinion, faster, more stable and hence easier paddling and safer than a SOT.
A lot depends on your open water and surf skills.
