Greetings Builders.
Scott Runner had commissioned JEM Watercraft to design a 17' x 33" SOT for solo or tandem use.
Below are some main hull sketches.

We tried a different approach to make the hull easier to build and lighter.
Instead of needing to build a complete deck top, the builder well install a subfloor. This allows for more open interior room.
It will be easier to build. Some simple frames are installed to the mid hull area like other JEM SOTS. Then, some 1/4" cleats are glued to the hull side. The top tumble home hull panel is installed after the subfloor is installed.
Please note: the attached is just a simple sketch.

Mick,
below is a VERY rough drawing I made of the seating I had in mind. I know that Matt will do MUCH better justice to it than I did.
I think Matt also wanted to shift the whole "cockpit" back 6".

Here's another sketch showing the contoured floor/seating requested by Scott.

Matt,
it's a circular hatch with a 9" diameter. See photo below. It's a Hobie 6" twist and seal hatch.

Matt,
I received the templates for the frame slots this afternoon.
I have panels 1-3 spliced/glassed together. I'll save doing panel 4 until I need it. I'll cut the frame slots today, cut the semi-circles in the cockpit frame, and start splicing the cockpit frame tonight. I should be able to start stitching the panels on Friday.
Should I fit the lateral frames to the cockpit support when assembling the hull? That's how it's been done in the past. Your drawings for the new build show the lateral farmes w/o the cockpit support.

Matt,
I stitched panel #1 and all the frames together. Everything looks fine.
