I live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Im starting the Free Laker soon. This is my first time using epoxy and wanted to know which hardner to use in the heat and humidity and any other advice u could give would be great.

The slow rate hardeners give you more time to work in the heat and also tend to blush less than medium or fast rate.

After you get the hang of it, you might find yourself waiting a little longer than you wanted for it to cure. But for a beginner, that's not such a bad thing.

I find the slow to be the easiest to work with especially in the heat. The last epoxy batch I bought, I got 2 gallons of resin and 1/2 gallon of both slow and fast. The only time I use the fast is in the winter time, or when I am making a small batch to glue something together. I attempted to use the fast tonight to fillet my tank well frames into my Sabalo and it started to heat up and harden faster than I could use it. It was 2 oz of resin with 1 oz of fast hardener and I spread it thin on some plastic thinking that I could get a little longer pot life out of it. It was about an hour ago and the temp was about 76 degrees F.

If you also want to find a local place to purchase the resin, A.J. Tucker Supply on Seaboard street has it in pint, Quart and gallon. Its 2 buildings off of 501. I am in Myrtle Beach too and just left there with my first resin purchase.
