I am ending my dk touring canoe and I am confused on how to fix the seats in the canoe. If it were possible, I would like to see some options for fixing.

Here are some options that others have used in their canoes. Hope this helps.

it's pretty simple. You can hang them from the gunnels using a kit that comes with seats like these:

Or you can just glue a cleat (strip of wood) to the side of the hull and mount the seat on top of that.
You don't even have to buy a canoe seat. You can make a bench seat from scrap wood.

Seat supports
Hi Alex,
I have enclosed a few pics showing how I have supported the seats in my build. I have taken in the expert advice from other builders on other postings on this site and made up a combination of both a cleat and additional support via the gunnels. As the pics show I think it looks both practical & aesthetically pleasing. I have picked up some S/S bolts, washers and lock nuts to secure them in place, I will then fill the top fixing holes in the gunwales with epoxy.
Hope this helps?

It looks like you've done a good engineering job of spreading the load there, Artful. It would hold even a heavy, clumsy fellow like me falling into it.
