I got my plans for an Eno, Matt thank you very much . I am looking forward to this even though I need to finish our camper first. I have a few questions and will try to put them together. If you feel there is to many questions here on the fourm feel free to e-mail me.

1. If doing a hull bright with option 1 taped seams only does the entire hull need to be covered with cloth or can a smooth film of epoxy be built up over just the plywood?

2. If you can’t build a smooth film and the epoxy needs to be reinforced on a tape only hull can you use a lighter glass since it is not even required on the heaver build?

3. On the bill of materials option 3, 4mm hull glass inside and out it does not mention tape, so it doesn’t need tape on the inside seams?

4. As I stated in questions about what boat I mentioned I’m a 260 pounder, would I need to add reinforcement in the seating area to support my fat a$$? I wouldn’t want my cheeks dragging.

5. On option 2 it says 6mm for the bottom and 4mm for the side panels. On a cross section of the Eno there are six panels would I use 6mm for only the bottom two or the bottom 4?

6. On a tape only hull can the tape be faired properly for a bright finish with clear epoxy or does it need a fairing compound and painted?

I haven't seen Eno build instruction here here is how I would interpret them.

No mate tape only means just that. 3 layers of epoxy over the rest of the plywood will give you a bright finish.

Refer answer 1. Though you can add extra cloth if you want to.

I would recommend tape AS A MINIMUM inside and out on all seams.

Don't know mate. 260 pounds is not that big though. I haven't seen the seat plans for this boat.

4mm or 6mm is fine 4mm is easier to work with than 6

Yeas mate it can be faired. - easy.

Most of all, DON'T PANIC! It is only wood and fibreglass. All is good.

To do a bright finish, you can use fiberglass tape (fiberglass tape is nothing more than narrow strips of fiberglass cloth) on just the seams or use cloth on the entire hull. Either will become transparent when wetted with fiberglass.

I'm not 100% sure I get your meaning here. You apply tape the seams, smooth out the edge of the tape, then coat the hull with epoxy. Do it in that order.

It's typically an either or choice. You can do booth to make it stronger. I'd do that on the bow and stern stems.

I'd built it try it out. You won't fall through the bottom. Just a matter of if you're comfortable with the hull flex or not.

See #1. My personal preference for the Eno would be fiberglass cloth inside and out to at least 2" above the upper-most chine. You get the most strength where you need it and it's the easiest to fair and make smooth.

I built an Eno using option two and used the 6mm for the bottom four panels,She is plenty strong!!!,
Although Matt would not recomend it I have paddled this boat with my wife(Shes a slim lady)up front and the Eno handled it no probs.
The slight v in the bottom panel iliminates oil canning,Your a$$ as You say will not be a problem!!!! imho
