Q: What to Do With the Stitch Holes

So what do you do with the stitch holes? After pouring through all of the build topics it appears that they don't get filled? Do they show after glassing?

I went to the library and got a couple books on glassing, one I got two chapters in and said forget it; he goes against everything this forum recommends. The other one almost looks like it was written based on this forum (course it was written in 1973). Anyway, he mentions only using a non oil based putty if you are filling because the epoxy will not bond to the oil based stuff.

What is the opinion here? The oil part makes sense so I'm looking more for brand/types of putty.

Sorry, I should make that clearer in the plans.

Fill the stitch holes in with filleting material (epoxy with some woodflour filler mixed in).

AHA! I probably would have come to that conclusion during the actual build. Just trying to get the ducks lined up before I commit. :)

Thanks for the fast response!

No problem. When I build, I like to have things planned out 2-3 steps ahead in my head.

Teddy,

I'm lazy. I let the epoxy fill them in when I apply a saturation coat and then glass.
