Thanks Joe, Matt's designs are incredible and this boat is a big guy dream.
She's starting to look better now. I really rushed things trying to get ready for that fishing trip but now I'm putting a good finish on her and tweeking the rigging.
My only suggestion on building is to think things through and not get ahead of Matt's instructions. I'm sure you'l do good.

I told you you made a beautiful design. This is the greatest handling yak I have ever paddled, and IT IS FAST.
Now all I got to do is name her. I'm thinking "Fast Lady." Oops! Can a preacher name his boat that?

Very nice. Very very nice.
Maybe you already said but how much does it weigh? I am curious if the strips save much compared to ply.

Right at 65 pounds with a very heavy seat and heavy rigging. Less than 50 pounds without seat and rigging.

She is a beauty Preacher. Now you have to go and scratch her
Very nice. Very very nice.

Cedar strips weigh approximately 20% less than okoume plywood when comparing same thicknesses. I built a Sabalo out of plywood and it weighs 60 pounds un-rigged. Preacher's un-rigged stripper is approximately 15 % lighter, but it is 1/2 a foot longer and 3 inches wider, so that may make up the difference in the 20%. Therefore, I would guess the 20% is pretty close approximation.
