Mick,
The reason I laid the keel strips is to start working gack down because the curve and twist was making the strips hard to hold in place. Went to the keel and started laying straight again and working down.

Finished stripping the hull tonight/morning. It has turned out pretty well so far. have some gaps to fill but nothing major. I will begin sanding later today. I am satisfied with the results so far. The lines of the boat turned out really well, but I took a long time to set the first strip and that is the most important. I think once the hull is sanded and a little filler applied it will look nice. I better get some sleep I have about 2,000 brads to pull out of the hull. :D
I was within 1/16 inch on the last two strips so I guess everything is pretty even.

That's some fantastic work. Can't wait to see the first coat of epoxy on her. It's going to take that pretty wood grain and just amplify it.

I got all of the brads pulled and started sanding today. It is cleaning up pretty nice, but I have a long way to go.

Matt,
I am going to start the stems tomorrow while waiting on epoxy and glass shipment. I am going to use Aspen for a nice contrast with the Redwood. I am thinking on just slightly rounding the stern stem instead of bringing it to a sharp edge. Will it hurt performance and how do you think it will look?

I highly doubt you'd ever notice and difference. Should look pretty.

Got all of the initial sanding done and the stems are under progress. Wetted her down tonight, I like the preview of what she is gonna look like glassed.
