The thinner ones would work. Not sure how to describe than other than smaller than standard. Maybe 6" long?

I used these on my Laker:

The pros and cons of each method have been discussed before and ultimately it's a matter of what suits you.

Anyhow, it looks like things are coming together well, keep up the good work 8) .

Thanks Onkabob

I am a sparkie & use that size a lot at work but find I break a lot if I pull them up tight & was worried that they would be too weak for the job & the next size up would mean too big a hole.

I might get a few packs for the daughters for when she helps with hers.

Depends a bit on the amount of twist / bend in the panels and also on the spacing. You might need a couple of extra holes at the ends and some temporary support while you get enough ties in place.

If you find the twist is too much and have to stick with wire then you might try Tor's trick of putting the ends on the inside of the hull. It's on page 2 of his Southwind build and is a very elegant solution to the punctured finger problem (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2535&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10).

Yes I have already decided that would be best for Cate's boat if I dont go with the wire ties

I got some more done on stitching up the Wadefish tonight but I seem to have a hump just to the aft side of the joint at the centre line. Some how I have a slight bow in the joint of the port side bottom panel & this is distorting the bottom.

I can push it out with my hand but it pops back up again when I let go. Should I tie that panel down to the side rails of the seat support???

That happens on occasion to some builders. To address it, I've seen the use of a little bit wider spacers in the area of the dip and it brings it right out.

Thanks for the tip on the spacers Matt it worked a treat.

I used the jig to set up the bow tonight What a magic idea.
