I got a chance to spend a couple of hours on her today

Temp frames are all cut and pre drilled. There are 8 temp frames on this build



Started stitching panels YAAAAY!




I need a bigger shed. About ready to start putting them together.



Here is the thing, My bench is only 2 feet wide. (600mm). I need to work on the first side panels and at the same time have my bottom panels which are stitched together on the bench at the same time.

Here is my solution.

I KNEW I would want that old dunnage that my last order of ply came on one day. My wife calls me Steptoe. I throw NUTHIN out.

and just a step to the left.



and then back to the right.



Oh my!, I like the shape this one is taking.



Back to work for a few days now, so will just have to let it rest there for a while.

Tell me the names of the Elf's you have that work on the boat after you go to bed and I will send a plane fare over for them so they can help me on my canoe build.
It should not take them more then a few nights to complete it for me , just to hot in the day for me to spend a lot of time out there in the shop.

Then I can send them back to you.

I am really trying not to rush this build more just thinking about each step well beforehand and trying to work out better ways of doing things.

This is the most complex, non strongback build that I have attempted to date and to be frank, have been a little intimidated by it. It all seems to be coming together pretty well so far though.

I was feeling a little better, but been back at work a couple of days now and seem to be having some sort of relapse. Had to come home early today and will be real lucky if I can make it back in tomorrow the way I am feeling right now. Robin is laid up with the same thing.

Not a happy little household at the moment.

I don't know about the Americans not knowing Rocky Horror Mick....... Meatloaf was in it.... and I seam to remember an episode of Seinfeld, where they were all dressed up to go and see it, and then there was the bit in 'Fame' where they were acting it out on stage as it played in the background..... I think it may have had some sort of following over there

It still has a big following. They'd have midnight showing and people would come dressed as their favorite characters. During the movie, those folks would go down front and act out the movie scene with their characters as it was being played.

Whenever the guy would yell "Great Scott!" everyone would throw a roll of Scott's toilet paper in the air.

OK,

Struck a bit of a hurdle yesterday.

Got the tumblehome panels on and the boat tipped over. Seems I didn't take enough care in marking and cutting the centre seams on the bottom panels. I didn't even check the seam when I popped open the bottom panels after stitching. This piccie only gives an indication of how bad it really is.



The bottom is all wavy and not fair. Will have to spend some time fixing things up before I go anyfurther. I was waaaaay too confident and didn't check things enough BEFORE I started cutting and stitching. - paying the price now.

These things are much easier to fix before one starts stitching. I have learnt from this and won't be making this mistake again.

Oh yeah, my DNA is now part of this boat too.
