Right now they are at 1/4" thick. I thought about going down to the same thickness as the ply. Its .200 which is a little bit more than 3/16" I think. But I got scared. I still can. They will be glassed inside and out with 4oz. And they are on the upper part of the hull, prolly not going to get exposed to rocks and river bottom stuffs.

Once again woodman you got me thinking. It would make stitching the panels together easier if they were the same thickness. Hmmm.

I cut them down to .200 I saved all the shaving in the bag so I could weigh them. I just forgot to weigh them before I went home.

Making some good progress! Starting to take shape.

Looking great, Neon!

I made 2 tables from a sheet of mdf that I ripped down the middle so I can either make a 4x8 or a 2x16 with them. It made making the panels up a lot easier than doing it on the floor. They just sit on saw horses so I can take them down easily.

I need to get a planer! I keep telling my wife how much easier it would make things

Man you are moving along....The reason I mentioned 3/16''...that is the thickness I sanded the strip panels for the Brazos River Dory...

Got the last 2 hull panels on!

I am hoping tomorrow I can getting the rest of the filleting on the outside of the hull done. Maybe get some glass on the outside this week. Also made these little things, I dont even know what to call them lol, out of some 2x4s and an old strap to rest the boat on. Sure does work nice.

Gave all the interior panels a test fit. Everything is looking pretty good. Its about time to figure up what kind of seat and foot braces I am going to use. As far as rigging, going to keep it simple.

I wonder what the boat would weigh without all the interior buildup..
and why only the SOT kayaks have the multi-chine hulls .....

Looking great, Neon!

Glad you mentioned the straps, else I thought it was levitating in thin air.

I'm sure it's pretty light, but not that light :D

I like the strap idea, may have to do something like that myself.

woodman, I will give it a weigh after the interior is glassed.

Les, what straps? There is nothing holding that boat up.....Its that light  I have been working on anti gravity for most of my life. So far, no luck. But when I do. I will quit building boats! :D

Jay, those straps work really good. Now I need to build that table like you talked about.

Taped it up and fixing to finish the fillets.

Really fired up about this build. Bummer thing is, I got to go out of town for a few days  Prolly wont get back on it till Monday.
