The noises you hear tonight will be the boys I'm sending round to chain a couple of plastic kayaks to your ankles - it's the only way to slow you down enough to allow me to keep up! :lol: :lol: :lol:

It's looking brilliant mate - can't wait to see it on the water.

Got the camping trip out of the way,now back to the boat. Most of the deck is sanded and I will try to finish sanding tonight and get the cracks filled so I can put the pre-coat on tomorrow. Supposed to get cold Thurs. so I dont know if I can get it glassed until it warms back up.

The deck turned out really nice. I'll fill the small cracks and give it a light sanding tomorrow. I hope to put the glass on by Friday. I just might make the wood boat roud-up yet. :D

I am going to go over to Darrels when he puts the saw to her to cut out hatches and cockpit,I bet he is going to be a little nervous.

I wouldn't want to cut that great work,I'd be scared to death myself :lol: I can't wait to see this kayak in person it has inspired me to think about trying it myself :wink:

Ron,
I have not cut the hatches until we can get together, but I did cut the cockpit. You were right I was scared to death when the saw blade touched the wood. :D

The small gaps have been filled and are finally dry. The last few days have not been good for epoxy. I sanded the deck back down tonight and will put the glass on the top of the deck tomorrow.

I gave it one more quick sanding tonight and then wiped it down with acetone to remove any debris or oil off of my hands.

I then laid the glass over the deck and let it set there for a few minutes and then I smoothed over it a few times with my hands to remove any wrinkles.

For the first time builders.
When you lay the glass across your hull you will think, there is no way that this will turn transparent. Believe me I thought the same thing when I built the Pirogue, but when you start laying your Epoxy it will magically disappear. :D

here it is with the glass and the first coat of Epoxy. I am very happy with the deck.
