Easier if it stay together if people want to research a build some time in the future.
Thanks Matt, hadn't realised I'd responded in the wrong thread. apologies.
Whilst I'm waiting for the international postal services to finally deliver the plans, is there any way you might email me the sheet with the cutting plans please. Just itching to get started

The plans come with some full-scale patterns of some of the parts with tight curves. You wouldn't get that far.

I know the feeling Falcn. But in the mean time there are a few things you can do. Read every build log you can and read them again, along with the tutorial, even if they are nothing to do with your model. Believe me, you will be glad you did. It's amazing what you think you have 'got' in your brain that disappears at the work bench. Even reading the manual over and over doesn't ensure that you will get everything right.

Also, think of every possible question you might have and hammer this forum for answers and ideas. Even the stupidest question is a smart one, I've discovered. It's amazing that you can make decisions in the workshop that you think are what you've read or the instructions say but if you ask for clarification it turns out to be wrong. These guys have saved my bacon so often I could open a deli.

Also, think carefully about what kinds of accessories or mods you want on your boat. There is always something that you will want that is unique. Give yourself time to mull over things.

Then, if you're still anxious, surf the net for hours a night drooling over what others have done, or to search for the best bargains on materials or accessories.

There, that should take care of you for a couple of weeks. :D :D

Being an impatient person myself I know what its like being ready and eager to start but being held up by USPS. I do hope I dont offend anyone here but it amazes me that the worlds most technalically advanced nation has probably the worlds most inefficent international postal service. Good luck with the build when you start mate.

Cheers Roger

Not my experience - I often buy from the USA on Ebay and articles can arrive quicker than they do from Sydney with Oz post.
Looking forward to your build.

Cheers Mike

Like Mike I have had fairly quick service from the US for most things. I wish my plans would get here soon though

Managed to get started tonight. Marked up the reference lines on all three boards and measured up board number 1. Was really happy when the diagonal measurements tallied

Two more boards to mark up and measure three more times, then I can get to cutting at the weekend.

I will not post photos of a sheet of plywood with pencil marks on it - not much to see just yet, but the camera is ready to capture the process from this point onwards.

Don't worry, we can visualize the ply with pencil marks on it. Looking good Falcn!
