G'day Zeb.

Congratulations, again mate. The boat looks even better on the water!

Beautiful creek too BTW.

If you don't mind my asking, W.T.H. is a Water Bailiff?. Aren't you allowed to paddle your creeks and rivers?

If that is the case, the only thing to do is....emmigrate :D Men of such obvious talent and skill are in short supply out here. Nearly all the Brits who come out do pretty well for themselves.

Failing that, perhap your own little Co-Durham tea party?

Again mate, Congratulations on a fine build. I am sure Ellie will love it to bits. Please stick around and share your knowledge and expertise with the rest of us mere mortals.
Regards,
Mick

Sorry the local gendarme made you exit. Next time he bothers you, slowly raise your head, staring fixedly forward and upward, and sigh, "Amen! ....." Then, fixing your focus directly on him, ask, "Yes, brother, may I help you?"

But, ummmm, I thought that was ELLIE'S boat. Where was she?

Seeing wildlife is great. You were in the Chapel of the Great Outdoors.

hiya fellas
Mick
We cant just(legally) put in a river here in mother england
theres all sorts of river access b.s.
The baliff was from a local fishing club came to chase me after a guy upstream(I saw him and from about 100 yds and turned round,he never even saw me when he was fishing)walked passed got in his car ,drove home and phoned the baliff!!!
I did give him a plesant "alwright mate" when he shouted "oy I want a word with you"
give him his due ,he was o.k. when we talked a while(he appologised as he left  )
Now i dont really know the rules but we re supposed to have a b.c.u.(british canoe union ) liscence ,then theres agreements with different owners of stretches of waters,I dont really know but I think we can only paddle tidal waters without a letter from two of our great grandparents!!!

by the way i was born about 5 mins away from where i was "caught"
I threw my Fathers ashes in that river the other week(Fathers day)with a fly in them given to me by my Uncle who tied it by the river with my Dad
over fifty years ago (the partridge feathers used were gleaned from the surounding fields)

My Uncle built and paddled his own canoe on that river and learnt my bro to paddle there too(roofing lathes and the old canvas roof off a van)
ooohhh sorry guys thats me rant over
ppssst Jack Ellie was marching in Her band and She couldnt Make it(actually She was poaching deer on lord barnards estate) but Im taking Her paddling tommorrow
By the way Guys its also against the law to hunt with a bow here too
AND also the law to practice your archery on a sunday morning
the V sign came from english archers showing the frogs they ve still got their bow fingers
I enjoyed prayin in the chapel though Jack :D
Sorry again for the rant
Now wheres that single malt!!!!!
All the very best zeb
P.S. Ellie won the pom pom(cheerleader) display :D :D :D

No rant Zeb.

You have every right to be miffed. I would be as mad as hell.
What darned rot. Land owners thinking they own the waterways too. Never heard such nonsense in my life.

Come on out mate. NOBODY owns the waterways out here. If you can get access to it, you can padle it, where-ever and when ever you choose.

We have a few who consider themselves to be "Landed Gentry" but we also have what we call the "Tall Poppie Syndrome" where the rest of us just love to cut em down to size every chance we get.
Regards,
Mick
