Re: Merry merrimac

Re: Merry merrimac
Been some rain cramping my style here but i've done a bit.
Have some pics i should've posted earlier but it seems to take ages to upload and resize them so I've just gotten round to it.
Skipped ahead and fitted decks and gunnels before doing outside joins while wrestle with the problem of drying epoxy outside wen its cold and damp.
Decks cut and epoxied underneath.
Grooves cut in inwales.
Decks and inwales fitted.
Outwales too.
Got lucky with my timber for the decks and yoke.
I didn't pick it out myself just told them what i wanted and i think the grains pretty nice.
I like the slotted inwales too. Worth a bit of effort.
I'm getting close.
Cant wait.

Was going to say it looks just like a bought one - but bought ones aren't that good .
Can't wait to see her varnished.

Re: Merry merrimac
Been lucky with weather last couple of weekends.
Got the outside seams done then a couple more coats of epoxy on
My most important epoxy tool!!
Just need to Graphite the bottom, install some seats and bulkheads and she's all done.
I don't think i can wait that long to get it wet though.
Might take it out for a spin 'just to check the trim for seat positions and such' before the finishing touches.
Did have a problem with amine blush and it didn't wash off like the epoxy literature said.
If i sand it down and recote it should that do the trick
