Coming together nicely Ron - I wish I could build a boat that "ugly"
Your comment about being able to handle her has made me wonder about the dimensions. Next time you post could you put up some of the basics eg LOA, beam, max height?
I'm also curious about the thickness of your strips are they the standard 1/4" or a custom size?

Ron wondering why you made a butt join in your panels instead of maybe staggering joint which striping allows you to do

Bob
She is 16 ft overal, and nearly that long a waterline, 20 inches at the widest point on the bottom, 22 inches at the 4 inch water line,
Matt designed her to max out to the rec class kayak racing ,long water line ,narrow, asymmetrical swede form ,she should be fast,I hope
I started doing some downriver races last year and this was the boat I wanted.
Bhemm
I used the butt joints because I wanted to see if this could be adapted to any of Matts plans, basicaly using the strips for plywood. also if I cover the bottom hull with graphite it will be covered anyway.Second ,I guess I am a little weird,I like folks to be able to see that it is wood ,all the knots and swirls and grain .

I sure do like the way that boat looks. The grain is great.
