Looking good Bruce - keep up the good work!
Plus 1 for the Bosch saw. I bought mine while building the Laker and found the straight blade is actually good for cutting ply - just have to get the angle right so it doesn't chatter. Can get away with a lot less support than with a jigsaw and for someone as unco as me it gives a straighter cut so I can cut close to the line. Large radius curves are achievable but for tight ones something else is still needed.

Mike,
We can thank Hairy Mick for the strap idear.
Craig,Bob
I have had the bosch for over a year, it has been a handy tool during house renovations (at my fathers) but is excellent for fine cuting with no splintering of the ply and can be used one handed when holding the work.

Re: Ossie Bruce's Okwata
Good to see you on the water at last Bruce - looks like it was well worth the wait!
I can't find any reference in the thread about the type of ply you used - is it Hoop?
Don't forget to charge by the hour when you build one for your son - and tell him you need to take your time to make sure it's up to scratch

Lovely work Bruce that's a real pretty boat from the waist down Now then with the money you've saved building a cracker of a boat you can afford a new hat
