I am about to embark on my second build and I would like a comparison between the Okwata and the Laker 14 if possible. I have placed an order for the laker 14 and sent order today; however have taken a keen eye on the okwata, my main use would be for fishing and touring on lakes and inpoundments.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
i can't really comment on the Laker 14, but the 13 is a superb kayak. I would expect the 14 to be a little faster.
Okwater is even better than my Laker 13. Not quite as maneuverable but faster, more predictable and more stable.
Build wise, there is more work in an Okwata, bu it has prettier lines and looks more like a sea kayak than a touring job - definately a head turner in any company.
For fishing and messing about in quiet, sweetwater, I think one of these two kayaks will be about as good as the other.
Its good to be back mate, thanks; I have been sitting on the sideline watching some fantastic builds take shape and thanks for the advice below. I have decided to go with the Okwata and once again have that feeling running through the veins you know the one, the order has been placed for the plans and will be like a kid anxiously awaiting that new bike checking the post box daily...... bring it on.
