G'day Lee,
I hope she does mate.
re customers, not at all interested in selling any of my Jem boats. I just couldn't imagine actually building one for sale. I get too attached to them during the build.
G'day Ron, Probably a couple of weeks yet. While she is right to get wet now, I want to get her pretty much finished and am resisting the temptation.
Now she is taking shape, I can really see the potential for this type of craft for fishing and touring. With a Laker Style deck set up, she would make a very good, bigger person, touring kayak.
Meanwhile, I have been playing with her bottom today.
first coat,
ready for second coat.
Third Coat.
I hope she does mate.

This boat, as she is now. is lighter than my Laker which came in at 15.2 or .3 kilograms. (34 pounds) I am guessing she is probably about 30 pounds without hatches.
This is the last of my very light ply. All subsequent builds will be significantly heavier.

Getting there !
Hull is finished and varnish is on, Letting that cure for a few days then a quick cut and polish -
then Fit Out. - hatches, carry handles etc.
This is the first and last boat that I will ever build by eye. My build has taken at least twice as long as it should have simply because I did NOT build to Matts lovely drawings. I will NEVER do this again.
Matt, I have learnt my lesson well here.
