More Paint Questions

Post by Teddy Madison »

OK, due to the fantastically thin vaneer on the Lowes plywood, I'm really thinking paint is going to have to happen. Not a big deal, more learning as I see it. :D

1. I see in other threads that porch paint is acceptable which is great because 10 bucks a quart compared to 36 bucks a quart will pass by the accountant a bit easier. 8)

I found Valspar and they have both oil and latex; which one? Or does it not matter.

2. Is priming neccessary or will a 220 grit (Or coarser?) rub down do the trick to stick it to the epoxy?

I will still be hitting it with Z-Spar also.

I'd say latex because if you're going over epoxy, oil isn't going to give you any benefit and it might even attack the epoxy a little.

Latex is a little friendlier to work with when applying and brush clean up.
