Art, Please totally disregard Jack's previous statements regarding wives.
Firstly you should modify your wife's behaviour with regard to this hobby, not her opinion, 'cos that don't count.
Secondly your wife should be discouraged from wearing any clothes in the presence of wet epoxy. Any fibres coming loose from such clothes could become attached to the boat. In the event of this happening you MUST allow your wife to do any extra sanding required on account of her thoughlessness.

Ha Ha heh heh,

Matt, in order to comply with General ratings on this site i'll leave that one alone.

An old tradesman once told me he who dies with the most tools wins, I'm still collecting. I was thinking of spraying the varnish on I have 1 x compressor (big) and a spray pot, never used. Since I have not sprayed before and would like to give it a go, could someone please advise what pressure I need to get started with. If its more trouble than its worth to spray on then feel free to comment.
HM,
Thanks for the advice on the prep between coats of varnish I will be adopting your advice.
Joke: What do you call a FISH without an "I" ??????
Answer: FSH
OK, I'll leave the jokes to Kayak Jack

I just dropped by to see what was going on at JEM, and what do I find? Another Issaquah on the way! Looks like it's going fine -- congratulations. Do you have any special plans for the boat? Ours left on a week-long Canadian trek about five days after it was finished.

Oh, and by the way. We placed our seats after making temp seats out of some scrap styrofoam house insulation. I think Matt has them in the pics of our build. They're still out in the garage if you want to drop by Washington and borrow them. :)
