PONTOON BOAT BUILD

Post by TARHEEL »

WELL, NOW I'VE DONE IT! I JUST FINSIHED MY FIRST PONTOON BOAT BUILD FOR MY WIFE'S FATHER, AND NOW THE GUY WANTS THREE MORE! IT TOOK ABOUT THREE WEEKS WORKING AT NIGHT AND ON WEEKENDS TO BUILD AND WE TOOK IT OUT THIS PAST WEEKEND FOR A TEST RUN. HERE'S THE LOW DOWN:
1- EASY TO LOAD AND UNLOAD FOR 4 PEOPLE, BUT CAN BE DONE W/ 2 IN- SHAPE FOLKS
2- IT HAS A LITTLE MORE WEIGHT THAN IT PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE DUE TO USING TUBES OF 3/8" FOAM. (THESE ARE PRIMARLY USED IN MAKING CAN CHILLERS, THE COMPANY I WORK FOR MAKES AND PRINTS ON THEM FOR ADVERTISING) P.S. MATT CALL ME 8) 8)
3- ONCE IN THE WATER, IT WAS EXTREMELY EASY TO PADDLE. AND APPEARED TO BE AS STEADY AS AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER.
4- I DID MOUNT A LARGE MOTORGUIDE TROLLING MOTOR FROM MY OLD BASS BOAT( ABOUT AN ADDITIONAL 30LBS IN WEIGHT) TO THE FRONT, AND IT DID NOT EVEN PHASE THE TRIM OR HOW THE BOAT HANDLE TOO BAD.
WELL THAT'S ABOUT IT I GUESS, I KNOW IT'S NOT TOO TECHNICAL, BUT I AM THE ROOKIE HERE. I'LL SEND SOME PICKS SOON.
